Foster Global Ambassador Program

The Foster School of Business is proud to have 21 undergraduate exchange partner institutions around the world. Each quarter as many as 50 international exchange students from our partner institutions are welcomed to Seattle to experience student life at the University of Washington and in the United States. Every exchange student is paired with a Foster School student during the time they are studying in Seattle to introduce them to the American lifestyle and culture that they might not experience independently.

The Foster Global Ambassador (FGA) Program is made up of a group of globally minded Foster undergraduate students who have a desire to connect with students from around the world and share their beautiful campus and city. This program is a yearlong commitment where Foster students are paired with 1 to 3 inbound exchange students to show them the ropes of the Foster School and UW. Each quarter the FGAs will plan on and off campus experiences to help the inbound exchanges get to know Seattle and learn about American culture.

Why Become a Foster Global Ambassador?

Business is Global

Building intercultural competence is essential to success in business; establishing relationships with your peers from around the world is a great foundation.

Engage Yourself

The FGA Program is a great way to get involved globally while staying on campus. Each FGA is responsible for planning one event per quarter with a team and attend the events planned by their peers. The program is called an ambassador program because that is exactly what the FGAs are, ambassadors for the Foster School! This program is integral to making sure the Foster inbound exchange students have an immersive and positive exchange at UW.

Have Fun

Do you love to show off Seattle to visitors? Be part of fun excursions to places such as Pike Place Market, Theo Chocolate Factory, or the Columbia Tower! Then apply to be an FGA!

Apply in Spring Quarter to be an FGA for the next academic year. This is a yearlong commitment with bi-monthly meetings and 4-5 events per quarter. Students can apply for the 2 co-chair positions or the 15 ambassador positions. Email Theresa Maloney at tmaloney@uw.edu with questions.
