Foster Global Ambassador Program

FGA visit to Nintendo headquarters

FGAs and Foster Inbound Exchange students tour the Nintendo of America headquarters in Redmond, WA.

The Foster School of Business is proud to have 21 undergraduate university exchange partners around the world. Each quarter as many as 50 Foster Inbound Exchange  students are welcomed to Seattle to experience student life at the University of Washington and in the United States. Every Foster Inbound Exchange student is paired with a Foster School undergraduate student during the time they are studying in Seattle to introduce them to the American lifestyle and culture that they might not experience independently.

These Foster undergraduates are Foster Global Ambassadors (FGAs). The FGA Program is made up of a group of globally minded Foster undergraduate students who have a desire to connect with students from around the world and share their beautiful campus and city. This program is a yearlong commitment where Foster students are paired with 1 to 3 Foster Inbound Exchange students to show them the ropes of the Foster School and UW. Each quarter the FGAs and the Foster Inbound Exchange students will participate in events as part of the Fostering Global Connections Program run as a partnership between the FGAs and the Global Business Center.

Why Become a Foster Global Ambassador?

Business is Global

Building intercultural competence is essential to success in business; establishing relationships with your peers from around the world is a great foundation.

Engage Yourself

The FGA Program is a great way to get involved globally while staying on campus. FGAs help the Global Business Center plan fun, cultural activities to welcome the Foster Inbound Exchange students, build connections between students, and help everyone get to know UW and Seattle. The program is called an ambassador program because that is exactly what the FGAs are, ambassadors for the Foster School! This program is integral to making sure the Foster Inbound Exchange students have an immersive and positive exchange at UW.

Have Fun

Do you love to show off Seattle to visitors? Be part of fun excursions to places such as Pike Place Market, Theo Chocolate Factory, or the Columbia Tower!

What is the Fostering Global Connections Program?

The FGAs and the Global Business Center work together to organize fun on-campus and off-campus events to build those connections between Foster undergraduates and the Foster Inbound Exchange students. The Fostering Global Connections Program involves 3-6 events per quarter that have included on-campus dinners in PCAR Hall, excursions to off-campus Seattle highlights, company visits, and fun events like Mariner’s games or UW sporting events.
