Spotlight on Centers

University of Washington’s Foster School of Business centers drive innovative research, stimulate advancements for businesses and non-profits and open doors for students to gain real-world, hands-on experience and business connections that help launch or advance their careers.

All Centers

Founded in 1991, the Buerk Center offers an exceptional curriculum, real-world experiences, and connections to the Seattle entrepreneurial community to inspire students from all majors and disciplines across campus to pursue their entrepreneurial passions.

The Center for Leadership and Strategic Thinking focuses on integrating rigor and relevance in terms of how leadership and strategic thinking is developed. Where numerous alternative solutions may not have research to back up their recommendations, our developmental programming is differentiated due to this focus on applying evidence-based practices which are demonstrated to have transformative impact on leaders and leader behavior.

The purpose of the Center for Sales and Marketing Strategy is to align important sales and marketing problems with academic research and analysis techniques. This results in strategies that measurably improve business performance, and furthers the creation and dissemination of sales and marketing knowledge.

The Consulting and Business Development Center (CBDC) defines what it means to be a publicly-engaged business school. By accelerating student careers as they engage in solving complex challenges and delivering world class executive education the CBDC is growing business that build wealth for under-represented minority entrepreneurs and businesses in under-served communities.

The CDL-Seattle community benefits from strong partnerships across the UW campus–College of Engineering, Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering, and CoMotion–as well as support from private industry, notably Microsoft Corporation, and from the Washington Research Foundation, Foster Foundation, and Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence.

The GBC creates transformative global business opportunities in Seattle and abroad for students, faculty, and the business community.
