Partner with UW Foster Executive Education to develop programs that reflect your industry, your goals, and your team.
From Fortune 500 companies in IT, manufacturing, and financial services to state and local government agencies, we work with organizations that are diverse in size, industry, and business model. We also work regularly with international companies and MBA groups from around the world for residential Seattle immersion programs.
When creating a custom program, we tailor the curriculum and format to your organization’s needs, drawing from UW Foster’s globally-renowned faculty, resources, and evidence-based research as well as our expertise in program development and learning formats.
- We believe in a collaborative approach to designing the curriculum.
- We encourage integration of your company’s values and strategic priorities into the program.
- We explore which formats and learning techniques would best complement your existing corporate culture and internal trainings.
- In addition to UW Foster faculty-led teaching sessions and discussions, we can integrate executive guest speakers, case studies, application exercises and simulations, and capstone team competitions.
- For many organizations, we partner year after year, refining content and formats in response to feedback.
Custom Programs are just that: custom. They each tackle a specific topic area, training gap, or challenge faced by a company. We have developed a wide variety of custom programs, varying in content, format, and duration. Some examples include:
- A two-day seminar on negotiating skills for your sales team.
- A one-week program on finance and accounting fundamentals for your management team.
- A two-week management development program for high-potential future leaders (residential, on campus).
Some of our custom programs are designed to focus on a specific goal or persistent problem faced by a company or its executives. If you have a challenge that you would like to address, we can work with you to design an appropriate curriculum. Some examples include:
- Develop a common process within your company.
- Develop company-specific instructional materials, including customized case studies based on your business.
- Work on a group project or challenge, with built-in check-ins after the course concludes.
- Virtually include distant or international team members for a portion of the program.
In addition to classroom learning, programs often incorporate experiential learning through simulations and/or role play.
Seattle is home to iconic companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing and Starbucks. Given the many famous companies located in our backyard, in addition to classroom learning, programs sometimes include visits to these companies and meetings with their leaders.
