Export Promotion
The Global Business Center provides resources for businesses looking to expand their global exports. Each year we host a variety of export related programming. One of our premier partners in this effort is the Washington Export Outreach Team (WEOT) a local part of the U.S. Small Business Administration focused on helping small businesses expand their global exports. GlobalEDGE
Created by the Center for International Business Education and Research at Michigan State University (MSU-CIBER), globalEDGE is a web-based knowledge portal that connects international business professionals worldwide to a wealth of information.
Center for International Business Education & Research (CIBER)
The CIBER program was created by Congress to increase and promote the nation’s capacity for international understanding and competitiveness. Administered by the U.S. Department of Education, the CIBER network links the manpower and technological needs of U.S. businesses with the international education, language training, and research capacities of universities across the country.
The Global Business Center at the Foster School of Business is home to one of only sixteen CIBERs in the US. The UW CIBER was first funded in 1991, and the CIBER grant supports many of the GBC’s student, faculty, and community programs. Some grant programs include Undergraduate Study Abroad, MBA Global Consulting Projects, Faculty Research and Curriculum Development and Export Promotion Initiatives.
