WHO CAN APPLY TO CISB?
You are eligible to apply if either of the following is true:
- You are already admitted to the Foster School of Business, OR
- You are applying to both the Foster School and CISB at the same time.
AND
You’ve completed—or will complete—at least one year of college-level foreign language (or equivalent*) by the quarter you begin CISB. *
*For details on language equivalency, see the “Foreign Language or English Communication” section under the Curriculum tab.
Important Notes:
- Admission to CISB depends on your admission to the Foster School of Business. You must be in Foster to be in the CISB program.
- Admissions eligibility may be reviewed on case-by-case basis – please email [email protected] with questions.
- Admission decisions are based on your:
- Academic performance
- Personal achievements
- Commitment to language and international studies
- Ability to complete CISB requirements within your expected graduation timeline.
How to apply
Priority Deadlines:
- October 5 for winter quarter admission
- April 5 for autumn quarter admission
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the start of Autumn and Winter quarters, as space allows. Contact [email protected] if you plan to apply after the priority deadline.
Your CISB application must include:
- Unofficial transcripts
- A signed degree plan (completed with the CISB adviser or any Foster adviser) that includes the following requirements:
KEY FACTORS TO INCLUDE IN YOUR CISB DEGREE PLAN
When creating your degree plan for admission, please read through the CISB curriculum and make sure to account for these key factors:
- 24 credits of CISB-specific coursework
- Language proficiency through the 3rd-year college level (via coursework or experience)
- 5 quarters of the 1-credit CISB seminar (I BUS 491)
- Study abroad or internship abroad in your target language for at least 10 weeks (can be through a Foster exchange, UW program, or approved international internship)
