Welcome Weekend

Whether or not you have decided on Foster, please join us for our Admitted Student Welcome Weekend! We invite you to come to Seattle, experience the UW Campus, and get a sense of what it’s like to be a part of our community. We also encourage spouses and significant others to attend each and every part of Welcome Weekend, including all on-campus activities on Friday. That’s why we offer partial financial support for travel and hotel to both our admitted students and their partners who will arrive from out of state or over 50 miles outside of the Puget Sound region – $500 per admitted student plus $200 for one guest. Through group activities and breakout meetings, Welcome Weekend will provide first-hand knowledge about key features of our program: curriculum, career services, facilities, special programs and student organizations. You’ll also meet faculty, staff and alumni, and begin to form relationships with both current students and your future classmates.

The main program is on Friday, January 23, and the event ends late-morning on Saturday, January 24, with student-led neighborhood tours. Breakfast and lunch are served on Friday, with lite bites served at Thursday and Friday happy hours and Saturday neighborhood tours.

Welcome Weekend Schedule

As part of Welcome Weekend, we’ll host an FOSTERing MBA Community & Connections Diversity Breakfast from 9:00am to 10:00am on Saturday, January 24. The event will feature students from Foster’s diversity clubs and members of The Consortium. The event is intended to build community and have casual, candid chats about the Foster student experience with students who have historically been underrepresented in the MBA landscape. While most of the discussions presented during this event pertain to historically underrepresented students, this session is open to all students interested in getting connected to diversity clubs and resources and/or engaging in upcoming initiatives and learning opportunities. Significant others (blue dots) are welcome too.

If you would like to get a head start on processing your transportation and hotel reimbursement, find the reimbursement form here soon, and know that we will also provide one to you during Welcome Weekend. Reimbursements will be processed after the travel has occurred.

Virtual Events

We would love for all of our admitted students and their partners to visit and get to know our community in person. For those who are unable to travel to Seattle, we have planned a couple of virtual events where you’ll have the opportunity to get to know one another along with members of the Foster community.

Join us for the Virtual Welcome Weekend! This exciting event is designed for admitted students who can’t attend in person but still want to experience all that Foster and Seattle have to offer.
