Certificate of International Studies in Business
An undergraduate certificate for Foster undergraduate students who want to build international business experience through foreign language study, study abroad, and internationally focused coursework or internships.
Professional Sales Certificate
An undergraduate certificate open to all UW undergraduate students. Students build sales fundamentals, including presenting, customer relationships, and selling, alongside management skills such as ethics, budgeting, and motivation.
Graduate Students
Entrepreneurship Certificate
Entrepreneurial ambition welcome. Study new enterprise creation, venture capital, technology commercialization, law and other start-up business topics. Open to Foster MBA students and UW graduate students.
Global Business Certificate
Focus on global business practices. Prepare to succeed in today’s interconnected business environment. Open to Foster MBA students.
Graduate certificates for working professionals
Graduate Certificate in AI in Business
Build AI fluency and strategic leadership skills through a 9-month, part-time evening graduate certificate designed for working professionals. Students learn to evaluate AI tools, identify business use cases, assess risks and trade-offs, and lead AI adoption within organizations. Minimum 16 credits. In person at UW Foster in Seattle.
Executive Education / professional development
Executive Development Program
A 9-month, work-compatible certificate for experienced professionals preparing for senior leadership. Participants build broad-based business acumen and leadership capability through evening classes, Foster faculty instruction, and two immersive retreats.
Business Management Certificate
A 4-month, work-compatible certificate for early- to mid-career professionals with at least 3 years of experience. Participants build practical skills in marketing, business strategy, finance, accounting, people management, leadership, and communication.
Topic-Focused Courses
Short, intensive Executive Education courses for professionals who want practical tools they can apply immediately at work. Courses address focused business topics and are offered in online and in-person formats.
Minors
Business Minor
Open to all non-business undergraduate students, the Foster School’s Business Minor offers students the opportunity to build a diverse set of career and life skills. Students completing the Business Minor will learn from excellent Foster faculty members in courses related to financial literacy, accounting, management, entrepreneurship, marketing, sales, and information systems. Coursework for the Business Minor will be delivered largely online with in-person events periodically.
Entrepreneurship Minor
This 31-credit competitive minor offers students the opportunity to leverage their unique talents, as well as their new-found business knowledge, to achieve their start-up goals. Open to all non-business undergraduates.
