Foster Regional Representatives are UW business graduates who support fellow alumni by acting as professional and social contacts for their geographic region. Through a variety of events, such as happy hours, networking nights, sports viewing parties, and seminars, our purpose is to socialize, network, build friendships and maintain a strong allegiance with the University of Washington. We are always looking for new ideas to bring our alumni together, and we are equally excited to add volunteers to enhance the alumni experience for our Husky Bay Area family.

Foster alumni can participate in local UW alumni groups and activities where they exist; in addition, some countries have a volunteer Foster alumni representative available to answer questions or serve as a point of contact. The weekend begins on Friday night with an all class celebration at UW Foster School, including a photo booth, music, faculty favs, food, and libations.

Learn

Saturday morning, we’ll convene in our new building Founders Hall for some lifelong learning with MBA faculty and Foster School leadership. Breakfast will be included.

Cheer

If you’re a Husky Football fan, head to Husky Stadium on Saturday (game time TBA) to see the Dawgs take on the California Golden Bears. We’ll make sure to share the location of the MBA Association Huddle’s tailgate!

State of the Economy

April 2, 2024

Hybrid Event
In-person from 5:30-8pm (Reception from 5:30-6:30pm)
Virtual from 6:30-8pm

The 2024 State of the Economy Forum will mark the 23rd year of the event which originated as "Breakfast with Karma." The original event served alumni of the Executive MBA alumni. Since Karma's death, the audience has greatly expanded and now includes a livestream. Foster faculty Ed Rice, Debra Glassman and Thomas Gilbert team up with alumni economist Chris Mefford (MBA '02) of Community Attributes to answer current economic questions of the day. Dennis Karlinsky (MBA '01) serves as the event moderator. 2023 was the first year with a corporate partner - Whittier Trust - whose local office is run by Nick Momyer (MBA '06).
