When you successfully complete a UW Foster Executive Education program or seminar, you receive a certificate. You are also eligible to receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
A CEU is a nationally-recognized method of quantifying time spent in the classroom during professional development activities. One CEU is credited for every 10 hours of course time, not including meal or break time. Please see each seminar web page for the specific number of CEU credits for that seminar.
To earn CEUs:
- Request tracking of your CEU credits when you register for the seminar (online registration form), or via email, by no later than the end of Day One of the seminar. CEUs may not be granted for students who make the request after Day One of the seminar.
- Satisfactory completion of learning objectives, class participation, and attendance.
Our CEU guidelines are driven by the UW’s general NWCCU accreditation and guided by generally accepted norms, based on institutional mission and policy, consistent across the institution, wherever offered and however delivered, appropriate to the objectives of the course, and determined by student achievement of identified learning outcomes.
To understand whether CEUs earned through UW Foster may be applied toward your specific professional certification, licensing requirement, or other required training, please consult with your licensing body or training department directly.
