Program Details

This quarter-long Foster Faculty-Led Program is for Foster undergraduate business students as it offers CORE business classes (OPMGT 301, MKTG 301, and IS 300) as well as two elective courses (MKTG 450 and IBUS 490). Students will have the option to take either 3 or 4 of the 5 courses offered.

During the program, students will take their courses at the Universidad de San Andres (UdeSA) downtown campus in the heart of Buenos Aires and have their courses taught by UW Foster Faculty. The UdeSA facilities are in the beautiful Recoleta neighborhood, a part of town which is extremely well connected by public transportation and surrounded by parks, restaurants, cafes and boutiques. The program is designed to enhance the business courses with an international dimension. The courses will bring in case studies or examples that tie the material to what you are experiencing in Latin America. Additionally, students will have opportunities to see real-world applications of the principles through both company visits by the group and individual observations. Possible visits include a new start-up HUB as well as state-owned and private enterprises. Throughout the quarter, students will also engage in a variety of cultural activities and excursions such as an ‘Asado’ at an Argentinian Estancia and a Tango show.

Eligibility: Current Foster School of business undergraduate students who have completed their lower division business core courses before departure or Professional Sales Program students who have completed ECON 200 and ACCTG 215 before departure.

The program fee also include two administrative fees: the UW Study Abroad Fee and the Foster Study Abroad Fee. Students pay the program fee via their MyUW tuition statement just like they usually pay tuition. All students pay this fee instead of paying their regular UW tuition. The program fee payment deadline is the same as that quarter’s tuition deadline. Nothing is due before that deadline.

Foster Study Abroad Fee

The Foster Study Abroad fee is an Administrative Fee that funds all Foster Study Abroad activities, including organizing the programs, recruiting participants, assisting faculty, organizing pre-departure and post-return classes and events, and for providing study abroad advice for students.
