Previous Degree

Bachelor of Arts in Economics

Why Foster

Before joining the program, I worked for 1.5 years as HR at Innolux, the fourth largest LCD Panel manufacturer in the world. I co-led tech recruitment and performance management for the company’s largest R&D business unit. Following this, I managed compensation & benefits data for expatriate employees in China and coordinated staffing issues with the U.S office. During my time at Innolux, I found that utilizing data from personality assessments, compensation, and employee performance indexes was essential to discover meaningful insights for optimal people analytics strategies, but I was unable to do so with my set of skills.  Hence, I joined the Foster MSBA program which provides a solid foundation for business intelligence, data management, predictive analytics and visualizations. The school aligns well with my career goals and will help me transform traditional HR functions.

Fun Fact

I’m a huge plant lover (especially for monstera and calathea)! I got some plants from Young Flowers and Plant Shop Seattle in downtown Seattle.

Previous Degrees

Bachelor of Technology (Electronics and Communication Engineering)

Why Foster

In my senior year of college when I decided to pursue my graduate studies right after college, it was important to me that I chose a path that strengthened my technical skills and analytical mindset while building my business acumen. I envisioned a career for myself where I applied my technical background and skills in the context of tackling large-scale organizational problems, and Business Analytics was the perfect confluence of all the areas I was interested in deep diving into.

The MSBA program at the Foster School of Business offers a compelling value proposition – mastery in data and analytics, strategic decision-making, and storytelling to join the ranks of data professionals disrupting and redesigning business processes across industries by leveraging data. The curriculum covers a breadth of topics that range from introduction to key business concepts to development of proficiency in industry-standard analytical tools. As the location was also an important decision input for me, Foster’s domination of the Pacific-Northwest as the consistently top-ranked business school and Seattle’s rich tech landscape made the Foster MSBA program an easy choice.

Current Job

I am a Data Analyst Intern at Stockpile, a fintech startup based in the Bay Area.

Fun Fact

I’ve taken up running over the last few months for exercise and stress relief, making the most of the Summer and Fall weather. While Seattle has several trails and parks that are a joy to run in or go for an evening stroll, I often run on campus as I live nearby and enjoy exploring the historic architecture of the University of Washington. The pandemic also got me into learning to cook at home, and I love trying new recipes and eating healthy!
