The Master of Science in Information Systems Program trains current and future business leaders who can effectively use and manage information technologies to solve complex, unstructured business problems, and provides them with innovative ideas about how to take advantage of new business opportunities. The focus of the program is not to train IT providers, but to develop IT consumers and IT managers. According to Program Director, Debabrata Dey, Professor of Information Systems, “As scholars and practitioners gradually shift their focus from IT providers to IT consumers, the significance of the role of information systems within an organization emerges clearly—in a digital economy, IT not only enables business processes, but IT also transforms them.”
