IES Berlin Program

IES Berlin is a quarter-long study abroad program in Berlin, Germany set up as a partnership between the UW Foster School of Business and IES Abroad. This program will be happening in Winter Quarter 2021. There will be 20-30 UW students participating in this program which is hosted at the IES study abroad center in the heart of Berlin. Students will be taught by IES faculty and will live in apartments with other students a walk or metro ride away from where classes are held. In addition to earning UW credit abroad, the program also includes company and cultural visits in Berlin, as well as a 2-night field trip to Munich to visit BMW.

Eligibility:

The program is open to all UW undergraduate students, but only current Foster students can take the MGMT 320 and IBUS 300 course equivalents.
There are no language pre-requisites for the program.

* Students will need to have completed ECON 200 to be eligible for IBUS 300 or the MKTG courses. There is a minimum GPA requirement of 2.75 at time of application.

Program Highlights:

  • Take 3-4 business classes at the IES Center located in the heart of Berlin in the Mitte neighborhood
  • Travel with a cohort of fellow UW students on a two-night field trip to Munich
  • Live in shared apartments with other students on the program
  • Enjoy cultural activities and excursions
  • Visit German companies

Cost

$10,700 – Includes the cost of the credits, housing, field trip to Munich, company visits and cultural activities

Application Process

The IES Berlin: Foster Partner Program application is open! Students need to apply via the UW Study Abroad website and a google form to have a complete application:

The priority deadline is May 15, 2020. This will be the initial round of acceptances to the program. This is also the deadline to be considered for the UW Study Abroad Scholarships.

If there are still spots available after that initial application cycle, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through October 15, 2020.
