Program Details

The Foster Rome Program is a cohort style program with around 20 Foster School of Business major students taking courses from Foster Faculty at the UW Rome Center. Students will take classes from these top Foster Faculty and participate on company visits specifically designed to enhance their classroom learning and provide professional development opportunities. Additionally, there are cultural activities as a part of the program so students have a chance to learn about Rome from local experts, and group meals to allow for community building between the students and Faculty. To top it off, students will get to live like a Roman in a shared apartment a short walk from the UW Rome Center.

Company & Cultural Visits

The program is designed to enhance the business courses with an international dimension. Students will visit local and regional businesses to learn about exporting olive oil, manufacturing high end cars, global supply chains, and more!

The program also includes several group dinners and cultural site visits to places including the Vatican, the Pantheon, and the Colosseum, all included in the program fee.

Program Cost

The Foster Rome Program fee can be found in the program application once it is open in mid- to late-Fall Quarter. All students on the program pay the same program fee instead of their UW tuition. The program fee covers the cost of the courses, housing, administrative fees, and program activities (company visits and cultural visits).

Students pay the program fee via their MyUW tuition statement just like they usually pay tuition. The program fee payment deadline is the same as that quarter’s tuition deadline. Nothing is due before that date.

Foster Study Abroad Fee

Each Foster Study Abroad Program will include the following fees in the program price: Foster Study Abroad Fee ($375) and UW Study Abroad Fee ($495).

The Foster Study Abroad fee is an Administrative Fee that funds all Foster Study Abroad activities, including organizing the programs, recruiting participants, assisting faculty, organizing pre-departure and post-return classes and events, and for providing study abroad advising for students. This fee is charged to all students participating on a Foster Study Abroad Program regardless of major.
