Applications

The Foster Professional Sales Program is open to all UW undergraduate majors who have met the following requirements:

  • 90 Credits
  • Minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA
  • No pass/fail grades
  • Completed ECON 200 and ACCTG 215 or ACCTG 219
  • Students do NOT need to have taken MKTG 301 to apply.

Students should submit their application to the program as soon as they are eligible. This will allow them to gain the most benefit from the internships, mentors and networking opportunities the program provides. The application portal will be used by students throughout the duration of the program to complete the application and program requirements and receive the Sales Certificate.

Application Process

  1. Identify your graduating year and start an application with your graduation year’s unique link and submit Sep-Feb the year prior. DO NOT apply for more than one year at a time and create duplicate applications in the system. If you need your application updated to a different year, please email [email protected].
  2. Once you have started your application you will be prompted to fill out required fields and upload documents that help us evaluate if you will be successful in the program.
  3. Once you have completed the application you will be invited in for a professional interview or you can reach out to [email protected] to schedule.
  4. Students will accept or deny the offer into the program officially in their application portal.

Sales Certificate Program Requirements

The curriculum generally requires four quarters to complete, as some courses must be completed sequentially. ECON 200 must be completed before MKTG 301, MKTG 301 before MKTG 335 and MKTG 335 before MKTG 496.

  • Complete prerequisites ECON 200, ACCTG 215 or 219
  • Complete two sales-focused pre-approved elective courses
  • Complete curriculum MKTG 301, 335, 430 & 496
  • Provide updated transcripts at the end of program for a requirement review.

If a student is not a business major, we will assist in registering for business classes after a student has completed their application with their Degree Plan signed by their Academic Advisor and submitted to our Class Waitlist.

Please note: There are no guarantees of placement in your requested quarter but we will make sure students can enroll in the courses by the time they need to begin the Sales Program Curriculum by Fall of their graduating (Senior) year.
