Master of Professional Accounting

The Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) Program at the Foster School of Business prepares students for a career in accounting with quality education, strong ethics, innovative thinking, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Focused coursework in data analytics and emerging technologies provides the edge you need to bring big data and robotic process automation techniques into your career. Our MPAcc program includes classes with professionals from firms such as Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, Amazon, Costco, Microsoft, Tableau, Starbucks, and Moss Adams.

Master of Science in Taxation

Foster’s Master of Science in Taxation prepares students for high-level careers in taxation, where economic decision-making depends on an in-depth knowledge of the tax code and its ramifications. Coursework emphasizes ethics, innovative thinking, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Certificate in Accounting

Designed for professionals who seek to transition into a career as a professional accountant and earn their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License, the Certificate in Accounting program, offered in partnership between the Foster School of Business Department of Accounting and the University of Washington Department of Professional & Continuing Education, will provide students the fundamental accounting knowledge needed to pass the CPA exam. Offered over a single Summer in an intensive format or as a three quarter part-time program, this program will provide you with foundational knowledge in important accounting principles such as financial accounting, accounting information systems, auditing, cost accounting, and federal taxation at a pace that fits your professional obligations.

Accounting Ph.D.

The accounting Ph.D. program is designed to prepare students for faculty positions at the world’s leading research-based universities. At UW, you work closely with leading scholars as you learn how to conduct research on the roles of accounting information in capital markets and on the behaviors of stakeholders in the business world. As an effective researcher and educator, you shape the accounting field’s future and contribute to broader societal and policy debates.
