Research Interests
- My research interests lie within non-market strategy, and corporate political activity and stakeholder theory in particular. Current projects focus on how the state attempts to hold firms accountable for their negative externalities in the absence of clear regulation; how information disclosure influences the targeting of firms; and how competitors react to this, in the context of the opioid epidemic. Motivated by my past professional experiences in environmental policy, my dissertation examines when, how, and why firms and industry associations use science-based strategies to influence regulatory processes. My empirical context is the drafting of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the food and beverage market.
