Professional Sales Program Frequently Asked Questions

When should I apply to the Professional Sales Program?
You can apply to the Professional Sales Program once you have completed 90 credits and have a minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA. Applications are open year around. Submitting an application immediately after completing 90 credits improves the chances of gaining access to internships and networking opportunities!

IMPORTANT: Students can start an application before they have reached 90 credits and continue to update it over time. This allows you to prepare for all the application requirements, such as, write a personal statement, record a video, request letters of recommendation. Starting the application early will help ensure you are able to submit your application as soon as you are eligible.

Freshmen and Sophomores: Complete the prospective student information form so you can stay current on upcoming activities. We’ll also notify you when the application is available.

I’m not a business major, but want to take the classes required for the Professional Sales Program. How do I register for them?
The Professional Sales Program will assist non-business students with registering for classes such as MKTG 301, MKTG 335, and MKTG 430. To be eligible for enrollment in MKTG 301, you must have completed 90 credits and taken ECON 200. Contact the Professional Sales Program assistant to be added to the class enrollment lists at salesprg@uw.edu.

Please note: You will be automatically enrolled in MKTG 496 if you are accepted to the program. This class is to be completed during your final spring quarter at the University of Washington.

What should I expect after I turn in my application?
Each student’s application will be reviewed by Jack Rhodes, Director of the Professional Sales Program, and a selected team of interviewers. If you are selected for an interview, you will receive a Doodle calendar invitation via email that will allow you to sign up for an interview slot sometime within six weeks after submitting your application.

Who should I contact for questions?
Please direct all questions to the Professional Sales Program assistant. Email salesprg@uw.edu, call the office at 206-616-6134, or stop by Mackenzie Hall 253.
